Tilgmans Keramik lamp (2 available)
Ceramic lamp with green glaze and sgraffito details.
Paul Harald Tilgmann started Tilgmans Keramik in 1948 in Utbynäs near Gothenburg. In 1953 he hired the Polish refugee Marian Zawadzki who started experimenting with the sgraffito technique. This created a unique textured ground which has become a style associated with Tilgmans Keramik. In the 60s the production changed towards a darker, more rustic style and in 1971 he moved production to Londonderry, Ireland. Harry Tillman died in Helsinki, Finland in 1974, and shortly after the factory closed down.
Tilgmans Keramik remains some of the most popular and sought after artistic ceramic pieces in Scandinavia.
