Olle Alberius Bamboo vases

€ 460 EUR

Stoneware vases from Olle Alberius’s 1960s “Bamboo” series for Rörstrand, characterized by wheel‑thrown forms, small raised feet, and horizontal incised bands that echo bamboo nodes, all finished in a glossy, variegated beige‑to‑dark‑brown glaze that pools around the rims and bands to emphasize their tall cylindrical, lantern‑like, and low rounded silhouettes.

Olle (Sven‑Olof) Alberius (1926–1993) was a Swedish ceramicist and later glass artist trained at Konstfack in Stockholm who designed for Syco Keramik and then Rörstrand—creating series like Sarek and Bamboo—before moving to Orrefors in the early 1970s to work with advanced glass techniques such as Ariel and Graal, and his pieces are now held in major Swedish museum collections including the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg.
