Inger Persson vase
Inger Persson was a Swedish ceramist born in Soderhamn in 1936. She received her formal education at the University College of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm from 1955-59, where she was fortunate to have Stig Lindberg as her teacher in the final year of her studies. Persson began working at Rörstrand at the age of 22 in 1959.
Inger Persson's ceramic works often included organic forms and shapes inspired by nature. She was known for her experimental and unconventional approach to ceramics, utilizing techniques such as slip casting, coiling, and pinching to create her unique pieces. Persson's works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout Sweden and internationally and her work is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
