Grete Helland-Hansen Nash (1939-1999) was born in Oslo, Norway.

After studying at the National Academy of Arts, she worked at the Aluminia Factory in Copenhagen and was part of a group of young female potters who created the Tenera range. 

In 1966 she worked in the USA, where she developed her use of the Japanese raku technique, moving back to Norway in 1972. She continued her studio work in Norway and is represented in the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, the West Norway Museum of Decorative Art and Sørlandets Art Museum.
