Irma Yourstone wall plate, Sweden 1960s

Colourful ceramic wall plaque with raised tropical fish and seaweed motif, glazed in shades of turquoise, blue and white with lively sculptural detailing.

Irma Linnéa Claesson started her career at Röstrand, where she worked as a decorator. During this period she meets Henry Yourstone and they settle in Huddinge where in 1942 they start Yourstone Ceramics.
During the second half of the 1960s and until 1971, Irma also worked as a freelance ceramist for Upsala Ekeby, Bo Fajans, Steninge and Laholm.
