Yvon Roy pitcher, France 1950s
Vintage ceramic jug with a softly rounded body, pastel pink ground and deep teal bands incised with graphic zigzags and stripes.
Yvon Roy moved to Durtal in 1943 and created his business. The presence of clay, wood (for cooking) and rivers (transport) explains the ceramic tradition of the region. In 1957, Mr. De Montgolfier took over the management of the workshop and worked to breathe new life into it.
