Peter Ellery vase, United Kingdom, 1970s

€ 220 EUR

Vintage Peter Ellery stoneware vase with a gently tapering wheel‑thrown form and layered mottled glazes in cool coastal tones.

The Tremaen pottery was founded by Peter Ellery in 1965 in Marazion near Newlyn in Cornwall. Trained in fine art and ceramics at Bath College, he was inspired by the Cornish landscape, natural motifs, such as cow parsley and grasses and by ancient runic symbols. Although based in nature, most of his patterns are strongly abstracted.
