Göran Andersson 'Cornus' mirror, Sweden, 1960s
Vintage ceramic mirror with white decorations on a brown background.
Göran Andersson is a Swedish ceramist known for clean-lined, functional forms and elegant Scandinavian simplicity. His collaboration with Upsala Ekeby helped bring his work to a wider mid-century modern audience, and his ceramics remain sought after by collectors. Upsala Ekeby, founded in 1886, became one of Sweden’s key ceramic producers, expanding from bricks and tiles into pottery and art ceramics. From the 1940s to 1960s the company collaborated with leading designers such as Andersson, Hjördis Oldfors, Ingrid Atterberg, and Mari Simmulson, producing boldly designed, vibrantly glazed pieces shaped by Scandinavian modernism.
